Penni is a teaching artist with extensive knowledge and experience in design, visual art and art history. She has taught studio design and design/art history at both DCAD and the University of Delaware and has completed numerous residencies, workshops and projects for schools, community groups, health & wellness centers, and non-profit organizations. She exhibits mixed media pieces in solo and group shows throughout the mid-Atlantic region and has examples of her work in several private collections.
Penni recently conducted an action research project entitled, "An Investigation of Interactive Dialogue-based Instruction for Undergraduate Art History." While at DCAD, she continues to explore innovative alternatives to traditional teaching methods in the liberal arts. Current courses include Art History II, Art History III, Visual Dialogues, and The Sensational Seventies.
