July 5th 2012
The Delaware College of Art and Design is pleased to again offer the Pre-College Art Studio Program to high school students with 45 students participating. The weeklong program will take place July 16-20.
Students in this year’s program will come to Wilmington from 10 different states including: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and South Carolina.
The Pre-College Art Studio Program is designed to help prepare rising junior and senior high school students for college admission in the fields of art and design. Students spend half their day in a college-level drawing course and the other half in a chosen elective. For the first year, all six electives will be offered and include: animation, graphic design, illustration, interior design, painting and photography.
A majority of students will live on campus in The Saville, DCAD’s on-campus housing. Field trips and evening activities are also planned during the week.
The program will conclude with an exhibition of student work on Friday, July 20, at 5 p.m. for the Pre-College students, their friends and families.
