Award-winning Bulgarian illustrator to visit DCAD, surrounding venues
January 4th 2011
The Delaware College of Art and Design will host award-winning Bulgarian illustrator Iassen Ghiuselev the week of Jan. 17. His week will include visits throughout the community and at area schools.
The week will begin with a reception at DCAD, 600 North Market St., from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18. Guests will be able to meet Mr. Ghiuselev and discuss his work. Pieces of his work for Pinocchio currently hang in DCAD’s Toni & Stuart B. Young Gallery as part of the College’s “Storytelling with Quill and Brush: Book Illustration from Bulgaria” exhibition. The exhibition will remain on display through his visit.
Another highlight of the week will take place Saturday, Jan. 22, when Mr. Ghiuselev gives a lecture at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, 200 S. Madison Street. The lecture, co-hosted by DCAD and the DCCA, will be held in the Wings Foundation Auditorium at 2 p.m.
This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
