DCAD students place in Global StartUp Battle: Delaware
November 25th 2014

DCAD congratulates students Tristan Campos and Erin Rothback who made some very big moves during this past weekend's Global StartUp Battle: DelawareTristan's StartUp team, the Aster Center- a resource for people suffering from eating disorders, won the grand prize. Erin's team, Evolve365- a platform for personal trainers and clients to communicate outside of the gym- came in as a runner-up in this entrepreneurial weekend of businesss model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. Congrats to all participants!  

DCAD holds Legacy Celebration in Honor of Stuart B. Young

Members of the community joined together to celebrate the life and legacy of former DCAD Chairman of the Board, Stuart B. Young in a reception held in the College’s second floor space on Thursday, November 20, from 5:30 to 7:30PM.

Stitching as Metaphor to open at the DCCA
November 11th 2014

The Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts will be hosting an exhibition of work by DCAD Fine Arts majors, entitled "Stitching as Metaphor," November 12 to December 9, 2014. The DCAD student artists represented in the exhibition are currently enrolled in the course "Mixed Media," taught by instructor Lynda Schmid. Each student selected anonymous, 19th-century photographic portraits to work with, primarily from the collection of Lynda Schmid.

An opening reception will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 5-7 PM, with a closing reception on Friday December 5, 2014, 5-10 PM, both in the DCCA Art Lounge.

Pixel to join Animation Now! opening on November Art Loop

A group show featuring work from the DCAD Student Gallery Club

Opening Art Loop reception: November 7, 5 to 8 PM

Pixel: a minute detail, small parts working together to create a whole. This gallery is dedicated to student-curated exhibitions; designed to enable students to express their artistic voices outside of the parameters of their coursework. The exhibition opening of Pixel coincides with the opening of DCAD's curated exhibition, Animation NOW! occuring simultaneously in DCAD's Toni & Stuart B. Young Gallery on November 7 from 5 to 8 PM. In addition to this free opening reception, Pixel will be on view by appointment through Nov 28 in the Tatiana Copeland Student Center.
