- Photo-Lettering: Fanatically Fabricated Alphabets for the Future

A new exhibition opening November 2, 2012, through a collaboration with House Industries deftly demonstrates the relevance of traditional photographic lettering reproduction in a contemporary context. By adroitly juxtaposing traditional materials and processes with contemporary applications, Photo-Lettering: Fanatically Fabricated Alphabets for the Future is less a history lesson and more a lesson of how to learn from history.

Each year, DCAD faculty select the best representations of student work to be displayed as a glimpse into the talent of the student body, and a showing of the varied projects that each major undertakes: from photographs, to illustration projects; and from 3-dimensional sculptures, to animation shorts. This opening is also coupled with an awards ceremony, where DCAD’s Deans List students are publicly recognized for their academic achievements.
- Fourth Annual High School Exhibition

Each spring, DCAD holds a showing of some of the best high school artwork and our 2011/12 exhibition drew 137 submissions that represented 36 high schools in six states and one submission from Puerto Rico. As a part of this public show, DCAD takes the opportunity to award scholarships to a select number of the most promising high school artists that participate in the exhibition.

The Continuing Education Program offers courses open to the community and certificate programs in Art and Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, and Web Design, and a Combined Web and Graphic Design Certificate. All students and faculty in the Continuing Education Program are invited to participate in the annual exhibition.

DCAD will host its Third Alumni Exhibition featuring the work of alumni from across several classes. A variety of media and art forms will be featured in this diverse show. An opening reception will be held Friday, June 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
- From the Studio: Seventeenth Annual Faculty Exhibition

The first major exhibition of the fall, From the Studio highlights the work of the studio art faculty at DCAD. The art exhibited provides DCAD students and the community at-large the opportunity to explore the current and personal work of the studio faculty, from painting, drawing, photography and sculpture, to design, animation and film-related work.
An opening reception will be held Friday, September 6, from 5 - 8 pm, coinciding with Wilmington’s Art Loop.
- Six x Six: Women Photographers of the MidAtlantic

Featuring the work of women artists who have previously lectured at the College through the Artist Speakers Series, Six x Six: Women Photographers of the MidAtlantic showcases accomplished artists including Alida Fish, Connie Imboden, Martha Madigan, France Scully Osterman, Jeannie Pearce, and Amy Stein. Each photographer employs a variety of styles and techniques, ranging from historic practices such as prints from collodion negatives, to contemporary digital work. Opening reception: November 1, 2013 from 5 to 8PM. Exhibition open until January 12, 2014.

Enjoy the best work by students in the Associate of Fine Arts Degree Program. All six majors and a variety of media and assignments will be featured from the past year. An opening reception will be held Friday, February 7, 2014, from 5 - 8 p.m.
