707 North King Street
DCAD expanded its on-campus housing Fall 2012 with the addition of the 707 North King Street Residence Hall.
While each unit in 707 North King Street has unique features, all are studio-style, divided into two areas, offering separate bedroom space and studio work space. Each unit also contains a full bathroom, which features marble tile and countertops. A granite counter with working sink is also located within the unit.
Within the 707 building, residents can find the Dining Hall on the first floor, lounge space, a laundry facility and the offices of the Student Services staff where packages can be picked up. The dining area, or atrium, located in the main area of the building offers free WiFi and space for socializing as well as studying.
The building is most recently known as the Brandywine Suites Hotel, part of the Clarion Hotels group. To note, the Market Street side of the property was home to the landmark Braunstein’s Department Store, which was well-known for debuting DuPont’s nylons for women in 1940.
