The Edgar A. Thronson art library houses a collection of over 13,000 books, videos, sound files, digital images, electronic resources, as well as subscriptions to art and design periodicals. The collection of art and design resources supports and supplements DCAD’s intellectual and artistic goals; with particularly strong collections in animation, art history, fine arts, graphic design, illustration, interior design and photography. The catalog of the recent exhibition “Drawings of Bronzino” at the Met, highlights all of the known drawing of the 16th century artist Agnolo Bronzino. Known for his skillful depictions of the human body and sensitive portraits, Bronzino was a court painter to Cosimo I de’Medici as well as founder of the Accademia del Disegno.
