dcad’s new assistant director of student services is preparing for fall semester

Delaware College of Art and Design’s new assistant director of Student Services is Marcus Freeman, who has been working with director Sarah Garner since July 8 to coordinate DCAD’s back-to-school activities and beyond. Marcus succeeds Sarah, who served as assistant director until previous director Jason Mokar left DCAD to take a position at his alma mater, Salisbury University in Maryland. Marcus recently completed a master of education degree in higher education and counseling at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md. He also holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Rutgers University–Camden in Camden, N.J. While a graduate student, Marcus worked for FSU’s Residence Life Department as a hall director and its Office of Student Involvement as a graduate programming assistant. As an undergraduate, Marcus was active with the Black Student Union, serving as president and treasurer simultaneously while serving as vice president for the Campus Activity Board and RU-C president for the Nu Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. In his new role, he joins Sarah in developing and overseeing all co-curricular aspects of student life at DCAD.
