grant options
what grants does dcad offer?
  • Federal Pell Grant

These grants are awarded from the federal government and are available at any time during the academic year for which you apply. The 2010-2011 Pell Grants range from $400 to $5,550 and are awarded to students with very high need. A FAFSA must be completed to qualify for a Federal Pell Grant.

  • Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG)

This grant money is for extreme need-based students. Eligibility is determined by the DCAD Financial Aid Office after all other aid is awarded and the student has financial need to be met in order to study at DCAD.

  • State Grants

Most states offer grant programs to their residents, however, some state grants are not portable to out-of-state colleges. Each state has its own guidelines, application deadlines, and eligibility criteria. Students should contact the Higher Education Agency in their home state for details. A FAFSA must be completed.

  • DCAD Need-Based Grant

DCAD awards grants to students who demonstrate need based upon the information reported on their FAFSA. A FAFSA must be completed. These grants are awarded based on the need at the time of admission. However, if financial circumstances change, contact the DCAD Financial Aid Office to discuss the situation. Satisfactory academic progress must be maintained to continue receiving a DCAD Need-Based Grant.
