The first Friday of most months brings Art Loop Wilmington, during which local galleries and arts-related businesses and organizations stay open late to host receptions for shows by artists from this area and beyond. DCAD students, faculty, staff and alumni are often included in those shows – and not just in the DCAD galleries, which are regular Art Loop sites.
Located midway between New York City and Washington, D.C., Wilmington is a lively and welcoming environment for creative artists and designers. Playing an important role in our nation’s artistic history, it is home to numerous museums, acclaimed architecture, theaters, historical landmarks and modern attractions.
DCAD students’ go-to place for studio supplies and College-branded merchandise is Jerry’s Artarama. Located just up from the DCAD academic building and The Saville on Market Street and just around the block from The 707, this family-owned, nationally respected art-supply house is a prime destination for both students and the area’s professional artists. Jerry’s offers discount prices along with artist resources and hospitality.
